Lovely concert beautifully performed. Thank you.
I really enjoyed this concert, with classical pieces and the excellent soloist Sophie Meyer in Mozart’s clarinet concerto.
Wonderful! What ability to perform this song without consulting a music book.
No, it’s a basset clarinet, an extinct instrument with an extended lower range that Mozart tried to save with his quintet and this concerto. Sabina is one of its few advocates today. To those who know the concerto well, much of the passagework flows more naturally on the larger instrument, without octave transpositions to accommodate the modern substitute. Excellent performance. Sabina is a rare gem.
Thank you, of course you’re right – we’ve just fixed this!
