The musicians of the Gstaad Festival Orchestra are bringing their rich summer season to a close with a semi-staged version of Tosca. Sharing the stage with the greatest voices of the moment – Sony Yoncheva’s “Vissi d’arte” and Riccardo Massi’s “E lucevan le stelle” are a thrill in themselves! – here they will face one of the most breathtaking dramas in the history of opera, under the expert direction of Domingo Hindoyan: the tragic romance between a prominent singer and an idealistic painter caught up in the whirlwinds of History – the short-lived Roman Republic set up by the fiery Bonaparte against the backdrop of the Revolution.
